Electric Umbrella delivered a memorable experience for Year 8 pupils.
The atmosphere was buzzing at school on Friday 17th October, as the vibrant, inclusive music organisation Electric Umbrella, alongside Hertfordshire Police, delivered a memorable experience for Year 8 pupils.
Electric Umbrella, a charity dedicated to empowering learning-disabled and neurodivergent people through music and creativity, brought its unique brand of energy and positive social message right into the Barbrolli hall. The visit was part of the Anti Hate Crime week and they performed their new song 'It's not a crime to be different.'
During the assembly, pupils heard messages about respect, inclusion, and standing up to discrimination. Year 8 pupils were encouraged to join in with the singing and were encouraged to ask questions. This hands-on approach allows pupils to engage directly with the charity’s mission, to create a society where everyone is seen, heard and celebrated.
Miss Ramsbottom, Assistant Headteacher commented, ''It was an incredibly powerful way to reinforce the importance of empathy and inclusivity. Electric Umbrella doesn't just talk about acceptance; they bring it to life through the universal language of music.''
