Interform Speaking Success

The highly anticipated Interform Speaking Finals took place on Friday 11th July in the Dance Studio. It involved a fierce contest between 7 Dane and 7 Exeter followed by an equally intense battle between 8 Burleigh and 8 Essex, as the speakers presented their ideas on topics such as ‘The Lochness Monster’, ‘Are sharks villains?’ and ‘Conspiracy Theories’.

Judging the competition were Mr Sutherland, Mrs Warrick (91制片厂 Librarian) and Miss Margaux Leroyer, experienced public speaker and Year 9 student. All the judges were impressed with the high standard of speaking skills on display and there was strong praise for the students’ dedication to their preparation which included thorough research and editing.

Mr Sutherland remarked that a mere point separated the winners from the runners-up. In the end the coveted trophies were awarded to the 7 Dane team comprising Hannah A, Meera S, Matt S, Sanuka G and Samuel D and the 8 Burleigh team, made up of Henry J, Sachin V, Kian B, Toby P and Robert G.
